Welcome

I’d like to welcome all coaster enthusiasts and those who enjoy anything and everything about amusement parks, to We Were Inverted. My name is Patrick and here you will find a detailed look at my amusement park and roller coaster experiences, both past and present.

I have been riding coasters since the early-80’s and have made many journeys throughout the United States to visit new parks and ride new coasters. Many times, I make these trips with some of my closest friends, who you can find on the Flight Crew page. These are our adventures and we invite you to come along for the ride. Earlier this year I was able to make a stop at Santa's Village Amusement & Water Park in Illinois during a week-long trip. I've always been a fan of small parks like Santa's Village and made sure we had a few hours to spend enjoying their ride collection. One of their rides is a semi-enclosed dark ride named North Pole Expedition. I thought it would make for the perfect POV to share during the week of Christmas. I hope those of you who celebrate have a great and safe holiday! Ever since it was built, I have been wanting to ride Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando. The odd layout intrigued me and after hearing some people nickname it "Mini-Pantheon," I was even more intrigued. Well, "Mini-Pantheon" it was not, but it was still a fun ride. Sadly, when we visited in September 2025 they only had one train on the track, which meant long, slow moving lines on a Howl-O-Scream weekend. Yikes! While not the biggest, fastest, or most intense ride at SeaWorld Orlando, this new for 2024 family coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard was a guilty pleasure. I loved the theming in the queue and ESPECIALLY upon exiting. I even managed to nab an Opening Day Penguin Trek shirt on sale for $12 in the gift shop on our second day at the park. I finally got to ride my most anticipated B&M Hyper Coaster, Mako, located at SeaWorld Orlando. This easily surpassed all of the other B&M Hypers I have experienced thus far with its long periods of floater airtime and long track length. To top it off, the views along the water were amazing. The last mountain/alpine coaster we experienced during our 2024 trip down to Tennessee was the Wild Stallion at SkyLand Ranch. The coaster is deceiving as it doesn't go terribly high up a mountain side and before you know it, you're back down at the bottom thinking that it's over. But it's not. You're at the half-way point. Back up you go! After spending 2 days visiting Six Flags Great America for our first-ever visits, Jen and I hit up a few nearby parks and family entertainment centers for a few more coasters. One of those stops was to Safari Land in Villa Park, Ill. for their Tiger Terror coaster from Wisdom Rides. This ride was supposed to be removed, earlier this year, but is still going strong. Safari Land said it's now slated for removal in August 2025, so if you're in this area, be sure to stop by for one memorable, well-themed ride.
