Wingman Bio

Mailyn and my officially old self enjoying the day at Six Flags Great Adventure on my 40th birthday.

Mindy and I have been close friends since the early 2000’s. During that time I have gotten to know her family very well. Her daughter, Mailyn, has gone on regular amusement park trips with us, as well as attending some of my former job’s annual workplace trips I used to organize. As a matter of fact, she’s even been to a few parks with me that Mindy, herself, has not – namely Dorney Park and Kings Dominion.

I love having Mailyn as a wingman while riding roller coasters, but I am not the only one here on the site who has said the same thing. Sam, who was still getting over her fear of roller coasters in August 2020, told me how much she enjoyed spending the day with both Mailyn and Mindy during our work trip to Hersheypark. Mailyn seemed to be having a good time, although on the way she was a pain in my butt. Why? Well, apparently the meatball sub I ordered at a Sheetz on the way to the park smelled “gross” and “funny.” Sam, Mindy, and I all looked at her and shrugged our shoulders, but she insisted. Naturally I intend to make a stop at a Sheetz every chance I can get from now on if Mailyn is driving with me.

Although 2020 wasn’t what past years were as far as trips to amusement parks goes with Mailyn, she’s still been my wingman a good deal of times leading up to this site’s creation. I think it’s only fair to have this up and coming crew member featured on this site. Here’s to riding some new roller coasters, visiting some new amusement parks, and stopping at EVERY SINGLE Sheetz we see along the way.
