Wingman Bio

James and I during our 2018 trip to Cedar Point to ride both Valravn and Steel Vengeance.

While my Aunt Cheryl is the one who got me into roller coasters at a younger age, it is James who helped stoke the fire of grabbing as many new credits as I can. James has long been one of my best, and most trusted, friends. We enjoy quite a few similar things such as baseball, football, wrestling, and roller coasters. That sports and coaster combo has been the focus of a number of trips for us over the years. Those trips include:

2012 - Fenway & Six Flags New England

James and I, along with our friend Shane, flew up to Boston to watch our hometown Orioles play against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. It was the first time any of us had visited Fenway, but it was also the first time that any of us had been to Six Flags New England (SFNE), which we did immediately after landing.

2013 - 7 States, 5 Parks, & 3 Baseball Games

One of my most memorable trips came with James that saw us travel through Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and back through Maryland. Through our trek of the seven states we made stops at Kennywood and PNC Park to catch a Pirates game on Day 1. Day 2 was spent entirely at Cedar Point. Day 3 we spent in Cincinnati at Great American Ballpark to see a Reds game. Our third day was our very first trip to Kings Island, where we fell in love with The Beast. Day 4 had us going to Dollywood for the first time. Day 5 was spent at Carowinds. And our final day, Day 6 had us at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, where the Orioles AAA team, the Norfolk Tides, were in town.

2016 - Cowboys & Coasters

Our most recent multi-day, sports/coaster combo trip came when we flew down to Texas. The Ravens were in town to play the Cowboys and James really wanted to see their stadium. Earlier that year I had attended Wrestlemania with another friend and even got to visit Six Flags Over Texas (SFOT). It was an insanely busy day, however, and I only got to ride New Texas Giant, Titan, and Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast. So to say I was looking forward to going back for the rest of those credits was an understatement.

Since it was James and I planning this trip there would be a whole lot more to do. We ended up hitting ZDT’s Amusement ParkSix Flags Fiesta Texas, SFOT, The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and finally, the Frontiers of Flight Museum just before taking off to come home. Oh, and James bought about 36 apple pies in total from different Whataburgers during our few days in Texas.

Another workplace trip to finish up the summer of 2023 – this time to Hersheypark. Several groups make it out w/ Wildcat’s Revenge a major highlight.
