Wildcat's Revenge - Hersheypark

Hersheypark – Some Windy Wildcat Revenge Rides

With only a few days left in 2025 the We Were Inverted Crew was itching for some more coaster rides before the parks around here shut down for a few months. With so many parks in the region no longer offering Winterfest or Holiday in the Park events (thanks Six Flags) we were left with two options – Hersheypark for Christmas Candylane or back to Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW) for Christmas Town. Having recently been to BGW for Howl-O-Scream in October and barely using our Hersheypark passes in 2025, Hersheypark was the obvious answer.

We missed out on Wildcat's Revenge for 2024's Christmas Candylane, but made up for it in 2025.

Finally Putting Our Season Passes to Use

It felt so weird for me entering December realizing that I had only visited Hersheypark once all year. I usually go every couple of months, sometimes even several times in a month. I think the first two years I had my pass I went a total of 30 times in two years. Oh well. I wasn’t mad. It’s just how things played out for me in 2025. All those multi-state, week long trips I got to experience with both Sam and Jen are to blame, but I wouldn’t trade those for anything. With that being said, the same held true for the both of them too. They both only got out to the park a time or two themselves. I guess we’re going to have to make up for that in 2026.

Twizzlers Twisted Gravity

When we walked into the park and saw Twizzlers running we decided to ride it first. It was so windy and Candymonium was closed, which is kind of typical on our visits to be honest. We expected it, but wanted to assure we’d get at least one ride in on Twizzlers if it is also prone to shutting down for high winds. With it being its first year of operations, we don’t know its tendencies. Plus, Sam already missed out on riding it with Eric during a summer visit because of a thunderstorm. I didn’t want her to miss out on it this time. Since it was up and running, we took no chances.

We managed to get seats facing Coal Cracker, thankfully. Why is that important, you ask? Well, that meant we would get to look down over the river on our back swing. That adds another 30 feet or so to the ground below. I didn’t know if we’d ride this again before the end of the day, so getting the best view/thrill to kick things off worked out nicely.

Now Jen and I managed to ride this a few times during a summer visit and loved it. We were looking forward to Sam’s and our friend Scott’s reactions. I sat next to Scott and could tell he was in awe and a tad bit freaked out. He did love the ride though and couldn’t believe how high it got. As for Sam, she said she shut her eyes for most of it, but did manage to peek a few times on the height of the back swings. She also ended up loving the ride, ranking it as her favorite S&S Screamin Swing.

Wildcat's Revenge

As much as we were looking forward to riding Twizzlers Twisted Gravity, we knew we were going to be spending most of our time at Wildcat’s Revenge. This tends to happen even when the park is fully operational for the summer months, although some other coasters do tend to pull us away such as the always amazing Skyrush. For Christmas Candylane, however, Wildcat’s Revenge is our star attraction.

We ended up getting multiple rides on Wildcat’s Revenge with Sam and Jen getting one more than Scott and myself. We all had rides in the front and the back with the rest coming closer to the back. Scott had never experienced the ride before and rode his first RMC, Twisted Timbers, back in July at Kings Dominion. He really enjoyed that ride and was looking forward to this one.

Scott was also curious to see how much had changed from the original Wildcat. Needless to say, he realized it had a changed a lot. He loved the coaster and couldn’t get over how smooth it rides. It had been a while since he last visited Hersheypark, but it’s safe to say that Wildcat’s Revenge is his current favorite. We will see if that changes when he visits again in the warmer months and can get some more rides on Skyrush, Candymonium (which he hasn’t rode yet), Storm Runner. etc.

Shaq-a-Licious Laff Trakk

With it being cold outside we figured we would hop over to the nearby Laff Trakk between our rides on Wildcat’s Revenge. What we didn’t know, however, was that there would still be a Shaq-a-licious Gummies overlay on the ride. The park added this during their Dark Nights Halloween event to mixed reactions. Eric was the only crew member to visit the park during Dark Nights to ride it. He’s a fan of Shaq, so it was something he was looking forward to. I was kind of bummed that I wasn’t to ride it too, but my plans had me in Florida and a few other places during Halloween festivities. So yeah, I was happy to see Laff Trakk featuring the overlay and props here for Christmas Candylane.

The ride itself is exactly the same, minus the large Shaq gummy eating the track on the lift. Oh, and the “Thank you for riding Shaq-a-Licious Laff Trakk” audio on constant repeat. I don’t know how many times we heard that and we only rode it once. Oh well, it was something different and out of left field for the park. I was glad we got to experience it and I joked with everyone that I was going to count it as a new credit. I don’t, by the way.

2025's Trips Have Kept Me Busy & Away From Hersheypark

I have always considered Hersheypark as my home park even with Wild World/Adventure World/Six Flags America (SFA) opening up when I was a kid and being about 30 minutes closer. I visited Hershey first and much more often growing up. So only getting to visit the park twice in 2025 was a bit of a bummer. I love the park so much and the ride line up is up there with the other top tier parks I’ve experienced.

My aim is to visit the park semi-regularly in 2026 even with a few getaways planned for 2026 too. I can’t wait to see what the park has in store for us in the future, but until then, there is plenty to do and love already, especially with my amazing friends who love rides just as much as I do.
