Cinderoller Coaster - Storybook Land

Storybook Land – Bubbles & Pumpkins for Christmas

Back in 2020 I visited Storybook Land for the first time during an American Coaster Enthusiast (ACE) event. It took place during the park’s annual Christmas event. Long story short, I loved the park so much that I went home and told both Sam and my father about the park. The three of us went back a few weeks later. You can read about both those trips in the trip reports below:

I had wanted to visit Storybook Land for a couple of years prior to those visits. My plan was to do so while hitting up some other nearby parks in the New Jersey region, but when that ACE event presented itself, I took full advantage. Ever since then, I have gone on to tell a bunch of other people about the park, especially those who love the nearby Dutch Wonderland in Pennsylvania or who have memories of the former Enchanted Forest here in Maryland. One of those people I told was Jen.

When I showed Jen my photos from Storybook Land she immediately wanted to take her kids. We talked about doing it last year, but we were unable to make time to do it. That turned out to work in our favor though as this year the park opened a brand new roller coaster called Cinderoller Coaster – an SBF Visa Spinner. How could I pass that up? So back to Storybook Land for Christmas I went and once again, showing the park off to people who have never been before.

Storybook Land
I have only ever visited Storybook Land during Christmastime. They certainly go all out with their decorations.

Taking the Kids While Being Big Kids Ourselves

Jen has three kids who all have vastly different feelings when it comes to rides. And since they’re kids, those feelings can vary at a moment’s notice. That meant her smallest rode both the coasters, seemed to like them on ride, but said she hated them afterward. Then the oldest wanted nothing to do with those coasters, but rode the bounce and drop towers a few times and spun herself silly on Tea Time. Her middle child couldn’t wait to jump on the train, old time cars, and a couple spinning rides and had a blast on all of them. That just goes to show you that Storybook Land was the perfect place to take her kids. There was something for everyone and their preferred level of thrill.

As for Jen and I, you know we were going to ride everything. Jen was also excited to see all the different fairy tale themed walk up/through attractions since she is also old enough to remember visiting the Enchanted Forest. She’s also been to Clark’s Elioak Farm, where a lot of the Enchanted Forest’s former props have gone on to find new life. I really need to get there myself one day. So many memories!

As for the rides, here are some thoughts from my favorites that night:

Cinderoller Coaster

This coaster was announced a few years ago, but for some reason, didn’t open until 2025. I don’t know the reason for the delay, but they do say, “Good things come to those who wait.”

This SBF Visa Spinning Coaster is one of the larger MX609 3 Loops models, which is the same model as Spinning Out at Beech Bend that Sam and I rode back in June. These are the only ones of this larger model I’ve ridden so far. And if you’re wondering, “loops” doesn’t refer to inversions. Loops in this case mean ovals. These coasters have an extra oval compared to the standard Figure 8 models more commonly found.

Up front I will say that this coaster looks amazing. It’s one of the better themed SBF Visa coasters I’ve seen. Between the castle themed station, the carriage out front, and all the items around the course, Storybook Land did a great job making this ride fit right in to all the other surrounding fairy tales.

While on the topic of well-themed SBF Visa coasters, another favorite of mine is also in New Jersey, iPlay America’s Freedom Rider. Kudos to both parks for not just plopping their rides down and calling it a day.

Bubbles the Coaster

Ah Bubbles! I swear, this small coaster is pure fun. I couldn’t tell you how many E&F Miler family coasters I’ve ridden in my life, but it’s a lot. This one I enjoy so much, though. I don’t know why, but it just makes me smile.

If you need further evidence on how much I like Bubbles the Coaster,  every visit to Storybook Land I’ve come away with Bubbles merch. My first visit I bought a pin. Second time, a magnet. This time, I bought a mini-stuffed animal keychain of Bubbles for my dad. He rode it with Sam and I back in 2020 and hasn’t been on a coaster since. He jokes that at his age, Bubbles was wild and kicked his butt. He laughed when he saw that I had attached it to his keychain the day after we came back from the park.

Tick-Tock Clock Drop

When it comes to drop towers, or bounce towers, I find this ride to be super fun. The repeated up and down motions on this are laugh out loud fun.  It’s just enough to tickle your stomach before calming you right back down during a slow rotation and lifting back up the tower. Then you do it all over again… and again… and again. Do not skip this ride if you make your way to Storybook Land. This is NOT your standard drop tower ride, so I also think more people can enjoy this.

Although I only rode it during the day, I had to see Cinderoller Coaster's lighting package at night.

A Must Visit for Small Park Enthusiasts

As a fan of small amusement parks, Storybook Land is a park I fully recommend visiting if you find yourself in the area. I don’t have any kids of my own, but I still had fun at this park back in 2020 when I visited alone. Since then I have made sure to take others with me so they can also experience this amazing little place – both young and old. There aren’t too many parks left like this in the United States so show them some love by stopping by and supporting them.

I’ve only ever visited this park during their Christmas event so far and it is one that is perfect for families and little ones. I do want to visit this park when it’s a bit warmer too and take my camera to capture it in more detail. I know Sam needs to go back for Cinderoller Coaster, so maybe we can include it in our 2026 plans?
