Twizzlers Twisted Gravity - Hersheypark

Hersheypark – 1st Rides on Twizzlers Twisted Gravity

After visiting so many parks this summer between my two seperate week-long trips with Sam and Jen, then coming home to grab some new credits at parks closer to home, my home park, Hersheypark, had been neglected. I hadn’t used my pass once this season and that is not normal for me. I usually find my way up to Hersheypark a few times every year. So far in 2025, that hasn’t be the case. I just haven’t had the time. Thankfully, that finally changed.

Wildcat's Revenge - Hersheypark
After missing out on Wildcat's Revenge last December, Jen and I were excited to get in some much needed rides.

Finally Putting Our Season Passes to Use

Since Jen had off from work she was able to join me for this trip. I know she was itching to put the season pass I bought her for Christmas last year to use. And thankfully we’d also get to experience a new ride this visit in Twizzlers Twisted Gravity. We’ve been watching the construction photos closely online and salivating over how awesome it looks.

Twizzlers Twisted Gravity

Man this swing is BIG! Even if it was sitting on a flat plot of land, it would look massive. Since the park placed it on the side of a hill up above the river, it makes it look even bigger. That red color scheme also makes it pop and those long swing arms add so much energy to this already crowded and energetic area. They literally put one of my favorite types of flat rides into one of my favorite regions of any amusement park. I love it!

This ride lived up to the hype too. We rode it several times and got to ride on each side of the gondola. Our first ride had us looking down over the river. The second, over the walkway in front of Coal Cracker. Our third, back over the river side again. While I do prefer looking down over the river, there isn’t a bad side to this ride. The pathway and people will look so tiny down below you if you are seated on the side looking out toward Comet.

If you love S&S Screamin Swings, I think there is a strong possibility that this will be your favorite. It has surpassed Finnegan’s Flyer at Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW) for me.

Wildcat's Revenge

I know Jen wanted to ride Wildcat’s Revenge a bunch of times, like we did with Pantheon last week. The operations had other plans though. The lines were on the longer side and they were only running two of the three trains.

Add in the fact that so many people walk right past the lockers with hats, phones, purses, bags, etc. and operations in the station slow down. I don’t understand why when they see someone with these items, they don’t say something to them before they board. Instead they make an announcement that if you have these items to take them down to a locker. Of course no one does so then every train, or every other train, has to have an interaction with someone who didn’t follow directions that now has to get off the ride, or who argues with the staff.

Maybe it’s time to have a metal detector and security guard at the base of the steps like Kings Dominion does with Twisted Timbers? I’ve seen some people get onto that station with a phone, but it’s rare. A lot less common than what you see in the station of Wildcat at any given time.

With all this said, we only managed two rides on Wildcat and it was as good as it always is. This coaster has been an amazing addition to the park. One day I truly hope that they replace Wild Mouse with an RMC Wild Moose model and call it Wild Mouse’s Revenge. And I want them to also put a piece of the old Wild Mouse track above its entrance too. How fun would that be being directly across from each other?

Tidal Force

I haven’t rode this ride in ages. I honestly cannot remember when the last time was. Since it was so hot though, Jen and I decided to give it a go after getting off Wildcat.

We ended up getting soaked too, which felt amazing. I forgot how fun this ride is and I wonder if all those rumors are true of its demise? I know some people saw some marking on the ground not too long ago. So if it is going to be replaced, I’m glad I managed to get in a ride this visit. I just hope if they do decide to go that route that they’ll tell everyone so they can get their last rides. Don’t do what Six Flags Great Adventure (SFGAdv) did with Kingda Ka, Green Lantern, and all the other rides they knocked down over the off season.

2025's Trips Have Kept Me Busy & Away From Hersheypark

I have no idea what I’ll be doing on my off days in August and early September, but I hope I’ll be able to get back to Hersheypark again soon. Even though I have been to this park more times than I can count, I never have a bad day here. Even on the days where operations might be a little slow on a favorite ride, or it’s blazing hot, I have yet to leave this park upset or hating the day I had. From my experiences, this is one of the best parks in the country and I’m so lucky that it’s only 1.5 hours away.
