Spinning Coaster - Malibu Jack's: Elizabethtown

Malibu Jack’s: Elizabethtown – Spinning to a Stop #2

After leaving the Malibu Jack’s in Louisville, I plotted our course to one of its sister locations in Elizabethtown, Ky. It would be our final stop of our evening before making our way to Bowling Green. We wanted to be close to Beech Bend so we could sleep in.

There was a good chance that these two Malibu Jack’s locations would be the only ones we would visit. I wasn’t sure if we would make it out to the one in Lexington as that one would be a little bit out of our way. Overall, doable, but still a drive. We were waiting to see how things at Beech Bend went, if we felt like driving back to Louisville afterward, and what we wanted to do on our final day before flying home in the evening.

It seemed like pretty much anyone could ride this coaster no matter how small they were.

You Spin Me Right Round, Baby, Right Round: Round 2

Okay, you’ve surely noticed the play on words with the headlines for these last two blogs here. The “You spin me right round,” should be a no-brainer as to why I stole those song lyrics to talk about riding spinning coasters. But there is also another part of the lyric that fits our experience here. Let me explain.

When Sam and I went to ride this SBF Visa spinner, sadly not named Twist-n-Shout, by the way, but instead the incredibly creative, Spinning Coaster, there was a woman with what appeared to be a toddler in front of us in line. I’m guessing this kid was maybe 2-years-old at most? We fully expected the mother to hand the kid off to another person before boarding, but nope. She took him right on the ride and put him in the seat next to her. Sam and I literally blurted out the full word version of “WTF?” seeing this.

After boarding, both of us expected the ride operator to tell the woman that the kid was too small to ride. I don’t recall if there was a height requirement for this ride, but I doubt this kid would make it if so. Regardless, the kid was fastened in and the ride operator let the kid ride. We were floored!

Thankfully, the kid was not thrown from the train. Still, this did not seem right.

Spinning Coaster

Much like its Louisville cousin, Spinning Coaster wasn’t spinning out of control. I was thankful for this not only for our own wellness, but for that child seated in the train in front of us. I couldn’t imagine if things had not gone well there. Man. I’m still not okay with it. Maybe I’m wrong and the kid checked out. I just didn’t see any kind of verification, but what do I know? Maybe they rode it before we arrived and the kid was checked? I really hope so.

This Malibu Jack's also had some other attractions that looked quite fun.

Two Malibu Jack's Down, One More to Come?

With tomorrow’s agenda being Beech Bend, there is a chance that we could head out to the Malibu Jack’s location in Lexington on our way back to Louisville. It will add some time to our trip, but there is also a Buc-ees that we could stop at in Lexington. We already did one in Missouri that I forgot to mention when we left Branson. How could we not stop? I think we are also counting Buc-ees credits now.
